CVT's!

Kelly and Theresa at work passed their certification test. They are now Certified Veterinary Technicians. In honor of this, i made two big cookies to celebrate at our next staff meeting.

Work Summer Party

We had a summer celebration party at work. I made a cake for it. I could not decide on a theme, so after discussing it with several people, i decided to do a 'pool party.' there was no pool BUT there was a slip 'n slide!

I used mini chiklets for the tile around the pool, i had to use tweezers to place them.

and i hate doing grass!

Sunflower Cake

We celebrated Patrick's moms birthday Sunday. She requested a sunflower cake. so i relied on the trusty internet to see how to even attempt it. and this is what i got. not my fav, but a valiant effort, i think the next sunflower will come out better, the flower it self came out huge. but sunflowers are big flowers...

i used sprinkles for the middle part of the flower. i liked how that looked.

not to shabby of a job for patrick's first time. he participated in my hobby. does this mean i have to try golf??

i put the next picture last. she doesnt like to say her age, so we werent 100% sure how old she would be, so we made a good guess.....

Tiffany's jungle baby

so cute!!! i love it. the animals are made from 'color flow.' you outline what you want, and then fill in the lines. it creats a pillowed effect. it tastes pretty good, it like royal icing if you've ever made a ginger bread house or eaten the icing on those.
i love these guys! they were pretty fragile though. i make 4 of every animal and about 8 palm trees. i was so scared they would break during transportation. i assembled it at the destination. none broke during the trip!!
and i love the little fondant flowers. they really added just a touch of color.

by the way..its a boy. i figured we all know Tiffany's pregnant, why try and write something like welcome baby. ;)
